Small handmade bag in one of the many weaving communities in the highlands around San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico. The design is a brocade (woven, not embroidered), a technique passed down through the centuries. Each Mayan  community has their own traditional motifs that are created on a back-strap loom. 

 

The bag is 8"wide by 6" long with a slightly rounded base of about 1", and has a zippered closure,tassels and a twisted cotton strap.

Gentle hand-wash or dry-clean
