Made by Herminia Gonzales, Kanwasumi/Medewa Cooperatives, Southern Venezuela.  Each basket comes with information on the Ye'kwana Culture and the Environment  of the Lowland Tropical Forest where they live.  10-1/2" tall x 10-1/4' diameter at top.  
 
The hourglass shape of this basket is based on the shape of the much larger traditional women's burden basket that is carried on her back with a band across her forehead.  The women have innovated this small basket decorated with animals of the forest, such as the monkey design and other cultural icons.
