Tinsaba represents over 400 women in throughout Swaziland in Africa. They work with the natural fiber sisal that is a member of the Agave family of plants. The fiber is scraped from the leaf with a sharp instrument, dried and dyed, then twisted and hand woven. The geometric weaving pattern is traditional, but complex innovative moderndesigns are made by master weavers. Each basket is fitted with a woven tab in back for hanging. The purchase of this basket contributes to women's empowerment.
