Tinsaba represents over 400 rural women in 33 different groups throughout Swaziland in Africa. They work with the natural fiber sisal that is a member of the Agave family of plants. The fiber is scraped from the leaf with a sharp instrument, dried and dyed, then twisted and hand woven. The weaving patterns can be complex or with a more modern design shown here. The purchase of this basket contributes to women's empowerment.
