The setu is patterned after a natural (undecorated) round basket that is used to store products gathered from the forest among the Ye'kwana tribe. This fair trade basket with its woven fiber handle can hang by it woven handle of another forest fiber, or sit on a table. It is both rugged (being reinforced within) and handsome. Each element of the design has cultural significance.
