This unusual ceramic hand built bowl is hand-painted by native Kichwa people. It contains imagery that reflects their mythology and legend. All materials are locally harvested including three colors of clay and minerals used to decorate the bowls. They complete complex designs with a fine brush with a skill honed by centuries of ceramic creations, many that are featured in Museum collections.
