Past and Present Weaving Traditions of Peru - A traveling exhibit and cultural program patterned after Images of the Maya. It is a collaborative effort between the Florida Museum of Natural History, Earth Bound, and the Center for Textile Tradition in Cuzco, Peru (CTT) that includes museum visits by Peruvian weavers, an educational web site, and a classroom discovery unit. The objectives are to increase appreciation for the beauty and tradition of weaving, to assist the CTT in their mission to create a renaissance of Peruvian weaving, to empower the weavers through dignified interactions with the public, and to extend the market for woven textiles.
